About Thelanguagebear
An Experienced Dirt Crew for North Idaho
Thelanguagebear runs land excavation for property owners and builders across Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and the rest of Kootenai County. Our operators handle the full earthwork scope, from stripping topsoil and clearing a wooded lot to digging foundations, trenching utilities, and compacting the final building pad. The work happens on hydraulic excavators, crawler dozers, and skid steers that we know cold.
What sets the crew apart is time on the machines. The ground around here runs from soft topsoil to glacial till and buried rock, and a grade that drains clean depends on the person reading the soil through the boom. Since 2011 our operators have logged thousands of hours on North Idaho parcels, so a sloped lot or a wet corner does not catch us off guard.
How We Work
- Locate first. Every job starts with a free 811 locate so gas, power, and water lines are marked before we open the ground.
- Balanced on site. Where the grading plan allows, we cut and fill to balance dirt on the parcel and save you truck loads.
- Compacted to spec. Structural fill goes down in lifts and gets tested to 95 percent density, so your slab sits on ground that stays put.
- Clean close out. We leave silt fence in place and a graded surface ready for the next trade.
